I was watching t.v. this morning before my workout, and learned some great tips that I wanted to share with you about suncsreens. Now I know we’ve talked about this before, but what I learned is how to apply your sunscreen and how long we should keep the product.
New York Dermatologist, (I don’t remember his name but we’re only talking about his tips and not any medical advice), so Dr. Dermatologist 🙂 recommends that we apply our sunscreen just before our trip outside. You have to make sure that you are spreading the product around your skin, especially if using one of the spray sunscreen oils or spray sunscreens. This will help with getting the most out of the product and getting the most coverage for your skin.
When wearing makeup, Dr. Dermatologist recommends putting on your SPF moisturizer first, then your make up. You may however, have to reapply your SPF both for face and body, since prolonged exposure to the sun will wear away the sunscreen you’ve applied.
Don’t keep your sunscreen in hot cars. It should always be left at room temperature as to not lose efficacy in the product. Dr. Dermatologist also advises to replace your sunscreen every year, since the effectiveness of the product will decrease quickly over time if left unused.
I am guilty of just about everything he said not to do. But now I know and so do you.
P.S. don’t forget your hat and sunnies.
