What to Wear

Do you ever have those days when, “you have nothing to wear”, and it feels like all of your clothes have betrayed you? I guarantee you you’re not alone.  Regardless how many clothes a woman has, or how beautiful they are, she has these moments too; I promise. I’m learning that this really has nothing to do with the clothes one has (or doesn’t, for that matter), but more to do with how she feels about her body, in those clothes in the moment she is trying to find something to wear.

So how do we fix it? Well, I’m not sure that we can ever truly fix it, but there are some workarounds to get out of the situation. I like to have “uniforms” that I know will work when I’m in a fashion rut. My  “uniforms” are pretty standard: a great fitting pair of jeans, a cute fitting tee shirt, and a blazer if necessary. Put on a pair of heels and you’re set. If it’s night time, pair this look with a clutch.

What’s important about the “Uniform” is that it fits you like it was made for you and you feel comfortable in it. It’s your go to when you don’t know what to wear. For your “uniform” it may not be jeans and a blazer, it may be a skirt and a top or a dress. You may have more than one, which reminds me, I should probably find another.

Connect with me on Twitter (@nichyl) and let me know what your fashion uniform is.
