“We’re Changing The World”

With the dust settling from one of the greatest rallies organized by young students in protest to school gun violence, you’d think that they would have a wealth of support behind them to not only end school gun violence, but also to help change the world so that it’s better for all students. Apparently, that is not the case. In the days that preceded Saturdays peaceful protest Brian Hogg, one of the March for Our Lives/Parkland leaders was rejected by 4 California universities that he had applied to. When asked by TMZ , what his thoughts were on it, Brian said, “We’re changing the world, we’re too busy to focus on that”. What great resilience exhibited (yet again) by Brian.

We can’t help but wonder if his controversial position on school gun violence was one of the factors that caused for these universities to reject Brian’s application? You’d think that any school would be lining up to have him (Brian’s GPA is 4.2 and has a SAT score of 1270).

To add insult to injury, Brian and Emma (as well as a few other organizers for March for Our Lives, have been “been getting death threats”, as they stated in an interview with CBS news this Morning. They feel the threats are an attempt to scare them to back down from the work that they’ve begun, some of which are coming from the NRA. They state that the threats won’t stop them, because they know they’re doing something right if groups and people are working so hard to put an end to their efforts.

*March for Our Lives was a student-led demonstration in support of tighter gun control that took place on March 24, 2018, in Washington, D.C., with over 800 sibling events throughout the United States and around the world.

The Mall in Washington, D.C., on Saturday filled with peaceful protesters for the March For our Lives Rally.
