Trends from the MBFW S/S 2015 Runway

Hot off the runway! the 10th annual MBFW Swim Shows and the trade show SWIMSHOW have just completed and it was a great weekend in Miami, (so i read). The shows were great, the models were beautiful, Miami  was a perfect host and designers didn’t disappoint. Yesterday, I mentioned the importance of the runway shows and what was happening in Miami. Today, I want to talk about the trends that were visible and how that will effect the swim suit styles we see next year.

A trend is essentially the frequency of a particular design or technique or styling perspective that we see. So in looking at a trend from a weekend of runway shows, we’re looking at how frequently a similar style or design was seen on different runways. The more we see it, the more likely we will see it again next swim season.

WORKS OF ART – Artsy brushstroke and tie-dye prints on swimsuits are great ways to update a simple body style of a coverup or swimsuit. Caffee didn’t disappoint with this number.

SURFER CHIC – Utility chic (zippers, rash guards) mixed with sporty-looking color blocking and extra-support underwires. We touched on this trend a few months ago, well it is in full swing and you will see it again for S/S 2015. Start doing your sit ups now! Put your standard bikini top on under the rashgaurd.
