Spring Skincare Routine 2018

Spring and summer are approaching quickly, but I couldn’t be more excited! ‘Tis the season of longer nights, louder music, cuter clothing, and minimal effort. Today I want to share with you my skincare routine for the spring/summer. It’s quick, it’s kinda cheap, and it’s super simple. I would also like to make note that this is what works best for me, I’m not a professional, nor do I know what the hell I’m talking about. Now that that’s been covered, here we go:

Face Wash

I use Garnier’s SkinActive Gentle Sulfate-Free Foaming Face Wash (Sold at Target for $8.99). It’s similar to Glossier’s Milk Jelly Cleanser (Priced at $18) except it foams and is a lot cheaper. This is typically the only face wash I use throughout the year since it’s so gentle on my skin and gets it super clean. I use this twice a day, every day. It’s also SO good at taking off all your makeup with one wash.

Toner

For toner, I use Witch Hazel. You can find this at any drugstore. The one I’m currently using is Thayer’s Alcohol-Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel which can be found at Target for $6.99. I like this toner because I can feel it cleaning out my pores while still being gentle and not leaving that harsh sting that other toners do. I just put some on a cotton pad/round/whatever and go over my neck and face to get all the dirt out.

Serum

I don’t usually use a serum but since the seasons are changing, I wanted to start back using them more frequently. I recently got a new Vitamin C serum from Amazon that’s supposed to make your skin firm and radiant. I’ve heard that Vitamin C serums are amazing for the skin so I’m excited to see how this works out!

Moisturizer

Lastly, I use a nice light but hydrating moisturizer. I used to use Pond’s Dry Skin Cream ($4.99 at Target) until I got boujee and tried Glossier’s Priming Moisturizer (Priced at $22) and fell in love. I liked the Pond’s a lot, it kept my skin super hydrated, but Glossier’s was just the perfect match for me. It’s lightweight, it’s not oily, and it leaves my skin looking and feeling hydrated and soft.

Extras

This is my everyday skincare routine for the most part. I also like to try and do a face mask 2-3 times a week which requires a face exfoliant. With face masks and exfoliants, I feel like that should be a personal choice because (and this goes for all skincare really) not everyone has the same skin type as you.
