“Style is who you are, knowing what you want to say and not giving a damn”. – Gore Vidal. We’ve all even there, wanting a look that we see someone else having. The great hair, the fab bag, the it jeans. We’ve also talked about it on this blog before. But lets talk about how to get those things without spending a dime. Here are the secrets of instant style.
The first thing you’ll need is to know what you’re working with. Meaning, what do you have? What can your hair do (for example)? It’s easy to desire something that someone else has, but how does that help you? Instead of focusing all that time and energy on something you will never be able to get, focus on learning and mastering what you already have. This can take time, but it’s definitely worth the investment. I have naturally kinky/curly hair. I used to spend tons of money on straightening it and trying to force it to do something is literally didn’t want to do. The second I decided to stop fighting an uphill battle and learn about my hair in all its natural glory, was the second that it started to look and feel it’s best…ever! Now, people want my hair, and complement my hair. Since it looks better, it pulls my entire outfit together way better than my straight hair ever could. Shop this look on Nager By Nic Hyl
The best style secret is…
Confidence is the best accessory any woman can own. You can’t buy it. You have to earn it. How do you earn it? By loving yourself. Once you reach that level self acceptance, you can truly begin to love yourself and that’s when your self-confidence will shine through. Confidence is not cocky. It means you know who and what you are and you’re not ashamed to express that. Most of the women that you may admire or look up to, probably own their self-confidence and it may be that confidence that makes her stand out and not her outfit. Secrets of style…
Happiness is an under rated style secret that we should definitely address more. I remember when I was single, I used to get asked out on dates all of the time (even though I would turn most of them down.) A co-worker who would over hear my dating stories once asked me how do I get all of these guys to ask me out so much? I told her it was simple, I’m happy and I’m always laughing or smiling. That draws people to you. Think about it; what guy (or anyone for that matter), wants to walk-up to an angry/grumpy/miserable person? Wear your smile confidently. 🙂
