Dior. Victoria & Albert. Dior, is quite possibly no other modern era designer has done as much for women’s fashion as him. As a designer, you read about Dior in Fashion History class and the first thing you learn about is his New Look, the inaugural Spring/Summer 1947 collection of then new designer Christian Dior that revolutionized women’s fashion for it’s new silhouette and and revitalized fashion for France. Under him, many other notable designers have been born, (YSL and Galiano to name a couple). The new exhibit at The Victoria & Albert Museum in London, pays homage to the Icon.
The Exhibit features photographs of the designer while working. Some of his sketches for specific models, and of course garments from the iconic label.
“Spanning 1947 to the present day, this exhibition will trace the history and impact of one of the 20th century’s most influential couturiers, exploring the enduring influence of the fashion house, and Dior’s relationship with Britain.” The Victoria & Albert Museum.

Tickets are 20-24 pounds and the exhibit opens February 2nd. While many of the events surrounding the exhibit are already sold out, if you’re in London, it’s worth going just to see it for yourself.
Are you going? While I go to England every year, not sure if I’ll make this exhibit. If you do go, comment your fav item on the gram @tiesidesandscoops.
