Blue, red, blush, apricot, eggplant. The list of colors could literally go on forever, well, at least it feels that way. Colors inspire everything from makeup to shoes, to clothes, to hair, and so many other things in between. They even have a color authority, Pantone, who tells us every year the color that will dominate the year (aka the “color of the year”).
When we approach a new season, we’ll begin to see the colors get darker, if it’s fall or winter, or lighter if it’s spring or summer. Normally, it’s the same hue that is just evolving. For this summer, we saw: white, blue, reds, pinks, and neon colors. For fall, those colors get transformed into: cream, navy, burgundy, fuchsias, and jewel tone colors. Designers and brands alike, make their products in these popular colors for that season.
Some women, will go as far as to pick a color that they are going to use consistently for that season (this fall/winter I’m committing myself to creams, burgundies, and eggplant). Now that I know the colors I want to wear, I can buy makeup, and accessories to work with those base colors. Check out a few of my fav items, in these hues (Nic TiP: Don’t be afraid to mix and match your favorite seasonal hues together):
Casadei: The Perfect Pump (This will be one of my investment pieces) They weren’t lying when they called this little gem perfect! So beautiful in this color and the texture will make any monochromatic outfit really POP. I love, love, love these! This Pointed toe pump is in grape lasered leather with a snakeskin effect. Dior Eyeshadow: This great color will pair perfectly with The Perfect Pump! Treat it like black, and use it to create an updated smokey eye. I use a charcoal liner to make my big, brown eyes really pop. Also, create multi-dimensional, light-reflecting eyes in a single step. This mousse-gel texture blends easily with the fingertips or the enclosed applicator. The eyeshadow illuminates the eye with a metallic finish. Available from Saks 5th Avenue – Homepage link
